The GPS Navigators come with a standard USB lead and a 12 volt car charger. The USB lead is intended for data transfer only. While it will provide enough power to turn on the unit, it will not charge the battery. Over time the battery will even go flat on a standard USB outlet if left turned on.

The GPS Navigator does charge by USB which is 5 volt like all USB connections. It does need however 2.1 amps to charge at the optimum rate. Most normal USB outlets are only 1 amp which is not enough to charge the battery. Please only charge on a 2 amp outlet or using the car charging lead in a car (not a USB outlet in the car unless the USB outlet is 2 amps).
